Fields of Malice is a solo project I started in the beginning of 2023 that combines some of my favourite game archetypes. Auto battlers, card games and roguelikes. The game consists of you assembling your own deck of cards, which are then aquired by purchasing them from a auto battler like shop system. These cards are then used defeat various enemies and eventually achieve victory (the exact gameplay loop is still a bit whishy whashy here, forgive me)
The reason this post exists already is that I created a **** load of VFX for all the 250+ cards and I wanted to show those off here on my portfolio! This will probably get updated in the future when the game is more finished to include some non-VFX stuff as well, but for now it'll just be VFX.
Below you'll find videos the show of each of the card-specific effects grouped together by region (every card has a region assigned to it, think MTG colors. I will explain my favourite effect of each region in a little more detail, and name some interesting things about them, but over all this is supposed to be more of a big dump of effects to be like "hey look what I can do".
