Fields of Malice is a solo project I started in the beginning of 2023 that combines some of my favourite game archetypes. Auto battlers, card games and roguelikes. The game consists of you assembling your own deck of cards, which are then acquired by purchasing them from a auto battler like shop system. These cards are then used defeat various enemies and make your way through the corrupted fields infested with a strange dark energy - the Malice.
The only thing I didn't make in this project is the card art which was made by my sister Sophia Feig, everything else was done by me. This page will go a bit deeper into the VFX for the game, but if you want to get a more general picture of the game please check out the trailer and/or play the demo on Steam.
Below you'll find videos the show of each of the card-specific effects grouped together by region (every card has a region assigned to it, think MTG colors. I will explain my favourite effect of each region in a little more detail, and name some interesting things about them, but over all this is supposed to be more of a big dump of effects to be like "hey look what I can do".
